ABOUT THE COURSES

Practical Utilization of Medicare LCD and Policy Article: Lower Limb Prostheses for Clinicians | 1.25 CEUs (Business)

Presented by: Sam Brouillette, CP, CFo | SPS

In this one-hour course, attendees will learn the reasons why clinicians should be familiar with LCDs and policy articles. SPS Clinical will lead a review of the different information contained in both. Attendees will learn about the importance of understanding revisions, where to find revisions and how to utilize and understand them.

Outcome Measures: Patient Functional Levels | 2.0 CEUs

Presented by: Sam Brouillette, CP, CFo | SPS

This course is designed to enhance the selection of patient functional levels, improve patient satisfaction, and optimize utilization by regularly employing outcome measures. Participants will learn to properly administer and confidently use a variety of outcome measures, integrating them into daily practice. The course includes hands-on practice sessions and discussions on commonly used outcome measures within the O&P community.

Alps Technology | 1.75 CEU

Presented by: Nick Nelson | ALPS

Discover different technology options that ALPS provides with an emphasis on the indications and contraindications of each one. Liner gels, fabrics and profiles will also be discussed as well as patient optimization, sizing and proper selection.

Adjustable Prosthetic Systems: Volume Management and Process Excellence with Click Medical | 2.25 CEUs

Presented by: Joseph Mahon, CP; or Mike Martin, CTP | Click Medical

This two-hour live course offers both classroom instruction and hands-on training focused on the use of Revo devices for volume management in prosthetics. Through real patient case studies, participants will learn to enhance their skills in incorporating adjustability into prosthetic devices. The course covers the six key steps in the care process: Intake, Evaluation, Order, Justification, Delivery, and Billing, with a focus on effective documentation and best practices. A design exercise will challenge attendees to apply their understanding of adjustability solutions, correctly design an adjustable system, and ensure proper fabrication.

Upper Extremity Terminal Devices A-Z: Exploring Body Powered, Myo-Electric and Adaptive Options | 2.0 CEUs

Presented by: Amy Ginsburg, CPO; Brandon Christeson, MSPO, CPO; Emily Jackson, BSMSE, MPO, CPO/L; or Nate Sprunger, MSPO, CP | Fillauer

Choosing components for an upper limb user can feel complicated, but it doesn’t have to be! Dive into the world of terminal devices with Fillauer. Learn about the options available to users, whether they want lightweight and cosmetic, robust and high-tech, or designed specifically for an activity or variety of situations.

OPRA Implant System by Integrum with Patient Ambassador (TF) | 2.25 CEUs

Presented by: Kurt Collier, CP | Integrum

The OPRA (Osseointegrated Prostheses for Rehabilitation of Amputees) implant system has been proven in several clinical scientific studies and has been used by hundreds of amputees in a growing number of centers around the world (14 currently) since the first surgery in 1990. Prosthetists are invited to attend this seminar introducing this revolutionary approach to amputee care. It will cover but is not limited to the surgical procedures, rehabilitation protocols, patient selection, demonstrated benefits, and the AxorTM II connection device.

Understanding Orthoses: Coding, Documentation, LCD and Policy Article Considerations | 1.75 (Business)

Presented by: Lesleigh Sisson, CFo, CFm; Curt Bertram, CPO, FAAOP; or Michelle Wullstein, CPCO | O&P Insight

This training course will provide participants with a clearer understanding of the definitions, criteria, and documentation requirements necessary for correct coding and claim submission of custom fabricated and prefabricated orthoses, distinguishing between off-the-shelf (OTS) and custom fit.  This includes the new Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes that take effect on April 1, 2025. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge needed to accurately classify, document, and bill for orthotic devices under CMS regulations, maintaining high standards of compliance and coding requirements.

Xtremity by WillowWood: An Advancement in Definitive Transtibial Socket Technology Resulting in New Clinical Solutions and Improved Patient Satisfaction | 2.0 CEUs

Presented by: Mark Clary, CPO | WillowWood

The Xtremity TT Socket System is a thermoformable, transtibial, definitive socket – made from a proprietary carbon infused polymer that is heat adjustable over the life of the prosthesis. The system includes three types of modular suspension units and a base alignment plate that allows for slide and rotation.  It is more efficient and safer to custom fabricate than a traditional carbon fiber laminated socket. Clinicians and technicians adopting the Xtremity technology realize short and long-term gains from accelerated device delivery times and reduced follow-ups while eliminating the environmental and health safety hazards of carbon laminated sockets.  Patients report increased comfort and satisfaction due to the nature of the socket material and ease of adjustability that results in more options throughout the continuum of care.   Attendees will be exposed to clinical scenarios and their solutions utilizing an Xtremity transtibial socket versus a traditional laminated socket to witness the clear advantages of the novel technology.
